UK MISSION 1Q 2020 APPLICATION


The Metro Phoenix Export Alliance Global RISE (Resources, Innovation, Strategy, and Execution), a program of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, supports Greater Phoenix based software as a service companies seeking to grow their business by engaging in the global marketplace. Participating companies will receive matching funds to attend a coordinated sales mission to London in Spring 2020.



  1. Resources: Global RISE participants will attend educational seminars and receive resources covering the most-pressing issues tech companies face in growing their business globally in London.
  2. Innovation: Greater Phoenix companies have software solutions to share with the world, but protecting their intellectual property is critical. Global RISE participants will learn how to protect their IP while expanding their customer base throughout the world.
  3. Strategy: Participating companies will develop a digital road map to take full advantage of growing their business by engaging in the UK marketplace.
  4. Execution: By participating in this program, companies will connect with experts from government, trade and industry who will support the implementation of each company’s strategy.

If you would like to apply for the Global RISE program, please read ALL the following sections as they contain important information concerning qualification criteria, terms and conditions, and privacy. When making an application, please provide as much supporting information as possible using the form below.


In order to be eligible for the Global RISE Program, Applicants must:

  • Be a small or medium-sized enterprise (“SME,” a business organization consisting of one or more domestic establishments under common ownership or control independent business having fewer than 500 employees) headquartered in the Phoenix MSA, which encompasses all of Maricopa County and parts of Pinal County;
  • Have software solutions that are market ready as of the commencement of this program;
  • Be operating profitably based on operations in the United States;
  • Be willing to share progress with program administrators on a quarterly basis and to tailor success stories as needed for public release.

Applicants will be required to apply for the program. Eligible Applicants will be invited to participate in a 30-minute assessment interview with GTM Global. A panel of independent judges (the “Committee”) will select up to 10 companies to the Global RISE program and receive a matching grant of up to $3,000 to attend a coordinated sales mission to London in March 2020 based on how clearly the participant can articulate the following when submitting their application:

  1. Viability of export opportunity and market potential;
  2. Competitive advantage in exporting a software solution;
  3. How the funds and sales Mission will be used to help the company achieve their export goal.

The decisions of the Committee with respect to the winners are final and binding in all respects and Applicants agree to be bound by its decisions.

The Global RISE Award grant funds must be used for expenses related to the Global RISE coordinated Sales mission to London that support grantees to expand their international reach through marketing and business development.

By submitting an Application, each Applicant agrees to release and hold harmless MPEXA, the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, and each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, sales representatives, distributors, licensees, vendors, agents, advertising and Contest agencies, and all managers, directors, officers, trustees, employees, agents, volunteers, members, or owners of each (the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, for any claims, costs, injuries, losses and damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Global RISE Contest, or acceptance, possession, or use of any prize (including, without limitation, attorneys’ fees, claims, costs, personal injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction or property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light, whether intentional or unintentional), whether under a theory of contract, tort (including negligence), warranty or other theory.
  4. The Contest and the Official Rules will be governed, construed and interpreted under the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to choice of law principles. If any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to the Official Rules, or the Contest cannot be otherwise resolved, it shall be resolved in the courts of Maricopa County, Arizona.

GTM Global (GTM) is the Greater Phoenix Economic Council appointed programme manager for the UK part of the MPEXA Mission.

In this MPEXA programme, GTM is responsible for:

  • The online application registration process including the storage of applicant’s data and the distribution of this data with MPEXA, Greater Phoenix Economic Council, GTM’s mentors, sponsors and partners who will participate in the programme (GTM Service Providers) and the organisations the participants will meet on the mission.
  • Interviewing applicants in order to fully understand their circumstances and needs in order to identify suitable connections and meetings during the mission.
  • Providing MPEXA with information about the UK market and opportunities to help MPEXA assess applications and formulate their decisions.
  • The schedule of activities in the UK during the mission including the meetings with a) potential customers, partners, distributors supply chain companies and b) with GTM Service Providers, government and trade organisations who may provide advice and guidance in relation to UK trading.

GTM does not provide business advice and any advice, guidance, counsel or representations given by GTM Service Providers or other UK based organisations connected with GTM are the sole responsibility of Service Providers, and in no way constitute advice, guidance, counsel or representations by or from GTM, or any affiliate or representative thereof.

Moreover, GTM does not warrant, guarantee, bond, or otherwise assume responsibility for any services agreed to be performed by Service Providers, or for any other act or omission to act by Service Providers.

Nothing in this document is intended to make GTM, or any Service Providers recommended hereunder, parties to a joint venture, legal partners, agents or affiliates

By submitting an Application, each Applicant agrees to release and hold harmless GTM and its employees, officers and subcontractors (the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, for any claims, costs, injuries, losses and damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Global RISE programme (whether intentional or unintentional), whether under a theory of contract, tort (including negligence), warranty or other theory.

Any disputes with GTM shall be governed and construed by English law, and by applying for the MPEXA RISE programme, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts in any matters pertaining to GTM.

By registering for this mission you are giving GTM Global the permission to:

  • store and use your personal information to send you emails about the Global RISE mission and other GTM Global business activities
  • share your information with the mission partners including Global RISE and Greater Pheonix Development Council, and where appropriate the UK Government's Department for International Trade, representatives of which may provide advice and support during the mission
  • share your information with GTM Global's programme mentors, sponsors and presenters so that they can undertake appropriate research, and contact you during and after the mission to continue discussions and explore business opportunities.
  • share your information with the companies and organisations with whom you will meet during the mission
